The Child's Heart

When {{{CAERI}}} put together "The Children of Light" I remembered the words from an interview that {{{MICHAEL}}} gave in July of 1996 called Dancing for a Living. He spoke of how "The Lord of the Dance" aroused so many feelings that people longed to have. And he said, "Everybody has a little child's heart down deep in them.... It's there even if they don't admit it." He was asked, "Do you have one of those child's hearts?" And he answered. " Oh, yeah. I hope I never lose it". From this I heard the Muse call and wrote this poem for "The Children of Light".

Within the aging body dwelt a Child's Heart.
Long silenced by fear and hopelessness.
One day a white winged bird flew across a screen,
Or so it seemed.
And it tapped out an ancient Celtic sound.
A sound that awoke the Child's Heart.
And the light that glowed

Showed
Not a bird, but a Golden Unicorn.
The shell of cynicism and negativity crumbled

At the sight and sound of this mythical creature.
The Child's Heart was free again.
Then in a blaze of light
The Unicorn was gone.
And there appeared a Man/Angel
Who spoke in strong but gentle tones
Quelling the pain of the body and the heart.
And smiling, He lifted the Child's Heart
Filling it with joy and hope.
The Child's Heart followed the Man/Angel
Witnessing again and again the Magic of the Dance.
And on it's journey it met other Child's Hearts.
They all reached out
Sharing love and light and good energy with each other.
And their love for the Man/Angel, the Golden Unicorn,
Grew and grew.
The Child's Hearts knew that they could always
Follow Their Dreams.
The Man/Angel promised them it was so.
No time or circumstance could make them give up.

No negative force would ever again silence them.
And they called the Man/Angel,
*Michael*
And they called out to him,
"We love you, Michael!"
And he called back to them.

"I love you, too."
And their Child's Hearts would stay in His Glow
Forever and Ever.

{{{Jeannie}}}Mama Pea! Thank you for sharing that wonderful poem. I just really hope {{{MICHAEL}}} gets to read it! It's so perfect. {{{MICHAEL}}} I wonder if one day you will truly understand just how deeply you touch so many people's lives with the love you give? And how much you are loved because of it.
